Job Description
The Process Engineer will be strong team player who can lead initiatives and drive them to completion while remaining open to others’ opinion. The ideal candidate is willing to take a hands-on role while maintaining the ability to see the bigger picture. They should be able to make tough decisions, possess a high level of initiative and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. An interest in the economic aspects of operating a refinery, a strong affinity with the practical operational side of the unit, and the ability to drive optimizations from both practical and theoretical perspectives are essential.

Core responsibilities include:
Act as the lead process engineer and/or project manager for modification projects
Lead the overall plant performance and initiate and justify improvements
Provide technical expertise in problem-solving for production issues
Support the operations group with the strong drive towards optimizing unit performance
Mentor and coach to less experienced colleagues
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience in refining, preferably in crude unit operations
Entrepreneurial self-starter and independent thinker with a can-do mentality
Strong drive to have the unit always optimized
Team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and educating others
Ability to collaborate effectively with all functions present on the unit
Ability to excel in a highly dynamic environment
No 9 to 5 mentality: willing to go the extra mile (on call rotation)
Capable of getting things done in an organization
Strong communication skills with proficiency in English; Dutch is a strong advantage.
